It's raining here on Long Island. It's practically flooding. I was planning on going to see Dark Star Orchestra while I watched the game on my phone. It's the same plan I had for opening day when I will be at Gov't Mule and the Tedeschi Trucks Band in Saratoga. For both of these events I had no idea that the Bolts had a game at the time I bought the tickets.

We'll see if this show even goes off tonight. Regardless, it seems like we will get a look at some of the new guys. I hate the idea of risking anyone to injury, but I know we have to field a squad vs Detroit. I also know that if guys don't play and then suddenly suit up there is a chance they get hurt anyway. Regardless, I'd like to see Hampton, Harris, and Lambert-Smith play a few reps and get off the field. You know, kind of what should have happened in Denver in 2022. Actually, those guys shouldn't have been out there at all.

Right now, it seems like people are hyped about the receivers. We'll see when they play against a defense other than ours. It will be interesting to get the story on Mike Williams' retirement. Clearly, whatever happened to him in the spring was pretty significant. I mean, they filmed that Love Island promo not long before he announced it.

The team obviously had no indication it was coming, but they aren't on the hook financially too much it seems. Slater finally got his extension, but we are all unsure of the IOL. There is no way to have faith in Zion Johnson at center. We know Bozeman isn't good enough, which is why we all secretly hope that James can win the job. Sayler lost a ton of weight, so maybe he can take Pipkins' spot. One thing I do have faith in is that Harbaugh will actually play the guys that deserve it. I was one of the DJ Chark boosters and clearly he wasn't good. I also wished for Sayler to get a shot over Pipkins and when he did against the Texans it was clear he wasn't ready. Harbuagh never criticizes a guy publicly, but his decisions on personnel seem pretty solid.

Long before Sunday Ticket, I used to go out to watch preseason games. Now, I do sit through them after the fact. One way or the other, I will watch tonight. We'll have more to talk about next week as I start checking in more frequently.

We still can't trust Quentin Johnston, but that goes without saying
