It's been awhile since we last spoke. That loss to KC hurt and not just because we had a 10-point lead. I don't think any Bolthead feels like a lead like that is safe and especially against the Queefs.
It was amazing that every person who was convinced that Herbert would end up in the hospital by playing without Alt and Slater immediately blasted the team for not beating KC without them. I guess the turning point could be the 4th down call. It was weird that we decided not to run there. Greg Roman has become our latest OC target of hate. I'm not saying some of it's not warranted. Remember when Wisenhunt revived Rivers' career by not having him playing hero ball? He had a comeback season, though you could argue Ryan Mathews' heroics until he got hurt helped push that team into the postseason (that along with a lot of other teams losing). The next year Reich tried to open shit up and we all hated it. Then he went to do well in Philly. The same thing happened with Steichen. I'm not saying Roman is great, I'm just saying the idea of having a running game to help Herbert makes sense. No one since 2020 has really pulled it off though they talked about it a lot.
Chase Daniel, who has tried to make himself something of a talking head and has to sit next to Emmanuel Acho with a straight face, said recently that Justin Herbert only cares about winning. He doesn't give a shit about his stats. We already knew that.
The KC game sucked because even though we were underhanded, they were there for the taking. Derwin's suspension didn't help. It seems like everyone is as healthy as they've been since Week One for Denver. I'm not sure why Asante Samuel is out, but he's not exactly indispensable.
If Harbaugh is going to truly stop "Chargering," this team will come out strong out of the bye tomorrow. Plus, he's going against Sean Payton, the guy we are all now happy the Chargers didn't hire. This season needs a reset. The early bye seems like a blessing now, so they need to take advantage. It's just that simple. Edwards is out and Vidal is in. If this team is going anywhere this year, they win tomorrow. It's just that simple.
