Yeah, it's a C and C Music Factory reference. If you want some real music, here's a link to the best Garcia Band show I ever saw. When I last posted on Jerry's birthday, I left you with a pledge not to get all sucked in every time someone left the practice field with a trainer. Four hours hadn't passed before news came out that Herbert had a "plantar fascia injury." Before you knew it, Dr. Chao (our disgraced former team physician, which is no small feat for the Chargers) posted his take and every person in lab coat with a microphone had their take. Was it plantar fascia or just an injury to that region? How long would he be out? Would he really be ready for the opener? It's already fucking exhausting. I won't lie to you, FAITHFUL READER, I was right there with you getting freaked out. Actually, the best take on it was from Pardon The Interruption, actually, where they basically said it's not a real story unless he misses time.
Lo and behold, his walking boot came off exactly two weeks from the day the injury was announced, which was exactly what they reported. He wasn't going to play during the preseason, anyway, but it's good to see he appears to be on track. He was taking snaps during this time and was working out the day after it was announced.
Of course, KC plays Mahomes and Kelce during the preseason and they never get hurt. I mean the one year Mahomes looked like his knee was mangled he came back. I do believe that Bosa had surgery after hurting his wrist. Harbaugh hasn't announced it but it tracks.
Someone on the Bleacher Report forum, which is more reliable than the site itself said they were at the game last week against the Rams and JT Woods' family was sitting nearby. They said Bosa got the wrist "fixed."
Last year, after the Green Bay debacle I attended, Bosa apparently smashed a wall due to Staley being Staley. That was why when everyone saw him sitting in the luxury box during the Ravens game and eating his kids meal he had a brace on his right hand. It makes sense that he wouldn't be anywhere near Staley. But who the fuck knows, certainly not me.
It does seem like the protocol under Harbaugh is that any time anyone gets banged up that they leave with a trainer. So far, we haven't heard of any season-ending injuries. So I guess it's working?
Thanks to the immense generosity of my friend DJ, I was in Vegas for the Dead and Company show on August 9, the anniversary of Jerry's passing. I got home in time for the preseason opener but once I heard how it was going I didn't bother trying to find a stream. It might be recorded on my YouTube TV but even I am not sitting through that shit. Speaking of KC playing their starters in August, I already see the Nabers/Latham concerns. We can't get caught up in that either. I think if Alt AND McConkey, Rice and Co. are enough than we can live with it. I know Easton Stick blows but he did get us the 5th pick in the draft. Nothing matters until we kick it off against the Traitors. You knew that already, obviously. I get that people are worried about the offensive line and that makes sense. But that's why they didn't listen to us and draft a receiver. What would have happened if Prater had made his kick against Seattle and we'd gotten the 4th pick? Cardinals fans must have been happy that he missed and I know Giants fans weren't thrilled that they got the 6th even though we passed on Nabers.
I will watch the recording of tonight's game when it airs tomorrow. Sarah is off to college for her freshman year on Thursday and Sam and I are going to Springsteen the following day for our 21st anniversary. I'll try to get something out on Wednesday. All that matters is that no one gets hurt. Just keep telling yourself that. I know I will.

RLW
