Under three hours to go, FAITHFUL READER. The Jacksonville game was abysmal. I don't need to remind you of that. I don't think they overlooked the Jaguars for one second. For the guys who remember the playoff game, I am sure they were locked in. I do think this team was limping into the bye week. If they were looking to anything, it was not playing football for a week.
This season can be a lost opportunity, but only if the Chargers don't win enough in December. I could sit here and dwell on all the injuries and say "the AFC is wide open." It is in the sense that no one is unbeatable. Of course, if we were healthy, we could think about it being our year to finally win it all. That's irrelevant.
Maybe if we stayed healthy, the other teams would play better. You never know. If you want to dwell on the "what ifs" with the Chargers you will never get out of that rabbit hole. We're playing the fucking Raiders at home. That's all we can focus. I know how bad they are this year. It doesn't matter. they need to win to keep the season alive. That's it. A loss to this team especially will put us into the off season immediately.
On the other hand...
I don't think I need to write much more than that. The game plan against the Jags looked like shit especially because the execution was shit. Herbert had time to start the game. It was actually much more than he had against the Steelers. He would (and was) the first to admit he saw some ghosts and held onto the ball too long. Like the rest of the team I think the grind of this year caught up with him. Most people thought that was the way the Pittsburgh game was going to go. Thankfully, especially for those of us in attendance, it wasn't.
So it's Fuck The Raiders as always.
Better Bolt Up.
JIC,
RLW
